Meet Brittany Laughlin, the very first female founder to be interviewed on The X Factor.
Simply speaking, gtrot wants to enable you to enjoy a “way more social” travel experience. From discussing the thought process behind the positioning of gtrot to offering insightful advice for other aspiring female founders, I mean this: Brittany’s interview is worth every word. Now, for the rest of the story…

Agreed!
Consumers traditionally shop at retailer A versus B based on the intersecting calculus of five variables:
Price (actual price to consumer + “friction” in ordering process)
Geography (proximity to consumer)
Selection (do they have X in my size, or sell rare item Y?)
Service/Brand (do I trust/like them?)
Experience (is it easy/designed to shop for X?)
Internet commerce has witnessed incredible price transparency, where the Walmart effect can play out without any pesky geographical barrier for most items that UPS will ship; this explains why there are 41,000 shoe stores offline in the US but maybe only 5 of scale online. That leaves Selection, Service, and Experience. Selection explains why a small site like SquashGear.com is likely thriving, and Service shows how Zappos got to $1B in sales.

”—It looks like AT&T is shifting the pricing model to focus more on messaging (SMS & MMS) and less on minutes. I guess this balances the fact that you pay for minutes but the call quality is declining. I think there will be a lot more shifts in how carriers will charge for usage as airtime becomes less relevant. It’s gotten to the point where I call via Skype to other cell phones just so I can have clear call quality.
